Theodor Cristian Niculae is a set and costume designer, multidisciplinary artist and curator based in Bucharest,  Romania.

Notably, his collaborative work extends to institutions such as Constanța State Theatre, National Theatre „I. l. Caragiale” Bucharest, „Nottara” Theatre Bucharest, Small Theatre Bucharest, „Excelsior” Theatre Bucharest, Bucharest National Dance Center, „Andrei Mureșanu” Theatre in Sfântu Gheorghe, „Sică Alexandrescu” Theatre in Brașov, and Münchner Kammerspiele in Munich, Germany.

As curator, he is dedicated to promoting the artwork of young and emerging artists. He has curated exhibitions at prestigious institutions such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Bucharest, BRD Scena 9, Artmark Galleries, and others. These exhibitions play an important role in bridging the gap between emerging artists and established institutions that are typically hard to access. By providing a platform for these artists, this newly formed context facilitates meaningful connections and opportunities for recognition, fostering dialogue and growth within the artistic community.

Theodor Cristian Niculae pursued his studies in scenography at „Nicolae Tonitza” Fine Arts Highschool, followed by the National University of Theatre and Film "I.L. Caragiale Bucharest".

Theodor Cristian Niculae had collaborated with several directors throughout his career, including Jan Burkhardt, Sigal Zouk, Theodor Cristian Popescu, Radu Nica, Andreea Gavriliu, Radu Afrim, Irisz Kovacs, Andrei Raicu, Bobi Pricop, Diana Păcurar, Eugen Jebeleanu and others. These collaborations provided him with valuable opportunities to contribute his creative vision and scenographic expertise to various theatrical productions and performances.
